Another two months passed. The FOI Commissioner cancelled the previous decision of preparing for further action

The Commissioner wrote on 5 July that ‘I am awaiting information from the PMC to be able to progress this matter.’ Apparently, the Commissioner considered the previous decision about further action was not necessary. When the Commissioner has no time frame for making a decision, there is no need to take action.

The Commissioner has around 10 investigating officers, and makes one or two decisions a month generally. Therefore every investigating officer can only have one to two formal investigations annually. The other time they have to patiently sit at their desks waiting. They said they had got used to it after a while. They are paid to be patient. That is not too bad for them anyway.
